The 2005 Cryogenic Engineering Conference (CEC) and International Cryogenic Materials Conference (ICMC) will be held August 29 – September 2, 2005 at the Keystone Conference Center in Keystone, Colorado, USA. The conference program format will consist of plenary, focused, and special sessions with oral and poster presentations. An integrated exhibit will showcase the most updated products and technologies in the cryogenic field. A special feature of this year’s conference will be the pre-conference sessions dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the CEC and the 30th Anniversary of the ICMC.
Keystone, Colorado is located in Summit County and is affectionately known and marketed as Colorado’s Playground™. Just 67 miles west of Denver, it offers a cornucopia of activities and events. Keystone is a fun family spot that is located high in the Rocky Mountains and centered around Keystone Lake.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS & PAPERS
Authors are requested to submit abstracts and papers addressing all aspects of Cryogenic Engineering and Cryogenic Materials research. The sorting categories are listed below for CEC and ICMC respectively.Subject matter of submitted abstract and papers should be technically orientated and feature new, original developments in cryogenic engineering and materials. Manuscripts will be peer reviewed for possible publication in the conference transactions, Advances in Cryogenic Engineering Vol. 51 and 52. The mode of presentation (oral or poster) will have no effect on the review of the submitted paper. Acceptance of an abstract for presentation does not guarantee publication in the conference transactions.
Transactions will be available in both hard bound and CD format.
PREPARING ABSTRACTS
CEC-ICMC 2005 will ONLY accept abstracts electronically. They must be submitted via the conference website: www.cec-icmc.org. All information regarding the format of abstracts and submission categories can be found at this website. The deadline to submit abstracts via the website is January 21, 2005. Do not send a hard copy after making a website submission. The deadline will be strictly observed and the website will not accept abstracts after this deadline.Authors are advised that deadlines are firm.
ABSTRACT ACCEPTANCE & MANUSCRIPTS SUBMISSION
Abstract acceptance letters will be emailed and mailed by March 15, 2005. Instructions on manuscript submission will be posted at the website. Manuscripts must be submitted to the Publications office by Tuesday, August 30, 2005.EXHIBITS

COLLINS AND SCOTT AWARDS
The nomination deadline for the Sam Collins award, honoring major contributions to cryogenic engineering is January 21, 2005.The Russell B. Scott Best Paper Award will be selected from the papers presented at the 2005 Conference. Specific details for both awards will be available on the conference webpage.
ICMC CRYOGENIC MATERIALS AWARD FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENTS
This award is given in recognition of lifetime achievements in advanced knowledge of cryogenic materials. The deadline for suggestions is June 1, 2005.CEC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The Cryogenic Engineering Conference (CEC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary Meeting in Keystone, the first recipient of the CEC Scholarship will be named. The goal of this graduate scholarship is to "develop and foster increased interest and participation in fields of cryogenic studies and to encourage future engineers and scientists in these areas". A dedicated CEC Scholarship website is being completed and information regarding qualifications and eligibility will soon be available through a link from the CEC-ICMC Keystone event website. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2005.STUDENT FINANCIAL SUPPORT
A limited amount of financial support in the form of travel assistance is available for students presenting papers. The guidelines for requesting assistance will be available on the webpage.STUDENT MERITORIOUS PAPERS
CEC-ICMC in line with its long standing tradition will present awards to students for outstanding work. The Student Meritorious Paper Award(s) will be presented during the conference. Winners will receive a printed certificate and a monetary award.In order to be considered for an award, please follow the instructions on the webpage. The deadline for Student Meritorious Paper submissions is July 1, 2005.

VISA REQUIREMENTS
Citizens of countries outside the U.S. must carry a valid passport and may be required to obtain a visa to enter the U.S. As the visa process may take up to 6 months, foreign participants should contact the United States Embassy, Consulate or Office of Tourism in their home country as soon as possible to determine their individual visa requirements. CEC/ICMC 2005 CANNOT INTERVENE with either U.S. Embassies abroad or with the State Department in Washington, DC, on behalf of any participant.
